who am i?

Another weekend has gone by and this is the 2nd weekend that I stayed in. Even more uneventful, I did homework for the majority of the weekend. Talk about turning a new leaf. When have you ever known me to do homework? I start 2 classes on Tuesday = earning 6 credits in 5 weeks. So I am a little paranoid that I will fall behind in the classes. One of them is a Religion class... ugggh kill me now. So I basically finished all of my assignments for the first week. Hopefully I can stay ahead of things like this for the rest of the class. I figure if I stay on schedule I should be able to finish my degree by September.

new computer & other jazz

well I did end up buying a new computer. I would have been more surprised if i didn't buy one. I bought it through dell.com and it is annoying because I won't have it for at least another 2 weeks - more like 3. I guess they don't realize how impatient I am?

special shout out to sister, she helped me via email whenever I had a question about the computer. hopefully she's around when I need help setting it up too

I've decided that I'm going to start buying things while I for sure still have a job. My next purchase will be a new bed. The futon that I've had since I was 17 just isn't holding up like it used to... plus the numerous trips of moving it around to colleges and around Iowa... I'm surprised I still have it and love it.

work today was exhausting.. I worked the full 8 hours (which is unusual) and I made about 350 calls. I had to dress up because the execs were in town and staying on task is hard. Iowa came over tonight and we went out to dinner. It was good to hang out, hasn't happened for a week or two.

still trying to figure out the weekend plans.. might actually be social for the first time in a few weeks.

new computer?

So I decided today that I want to get a new computer. It was a semi-random decision but the rest of my family has recently bought new computers and I feel left out (shocker)

fact: I have no virus protection on my current computer
fact: I am currently using a POS e-machine that is about 5 years old
fact: my current computer does work for the purposes of facebook and downloading illegal music but that's about it
fact: Starting next week I am taking two classes at a time (both online) until I finish my degree and I need a dependable computer (ok, so this is a legit reason that makes me feel better)
fact: I figure this is the only point in my life where I will have extra money to spend on a computer

I haven't bought anything yet but sister recently got a laptop from Dell and she seems to be pretty happy about it. A little iffy about using Vista instead of Windows but otherwise I'm pretty excited about the idea of a new computer.

taxes done! big refund!

all i have to say is TGIF... I finally got my tax return on friday and thank god, because I was broke. Now I am.. well not as broke. First thing on my list was a new phone. I had received an email that said I could upgrade my phone and we all know how I am about waiting 2 years fro a new one. So I got the EnV for $50. I am loving it. It has kept me entertained for the whole weekend and I'm finally learning how to type on a keyboard. so hard to get used to! I went and visited Iowa on friday night. We went to applebees with her roommate ange. afterwards we hit up maggie moos and then went to her friend's place and hung out. overall it was a good night but I was tired and headed home by midnight. props to Iowa for making me a new cd. I wouldn't stop harassing her about it but at least it kept me entertained on my drive back to clinton.

Saturday: how nice was it? my favorite thing to do is to drive around with my windows down and listening to the music so loud that I can't hear my phone when it rings. I gave max a bath and headed over to the parents house to grill out. afterwards I went and spent too much money at target - have I ever been responsible with money? no. waiting on my rich husband for that non-sense. I bought a dvd shelf that I was suppose to build.. seriously, do I really need 6 pieces of plywood and 75 screws for one shelf? well it's about 50% complete and pieces are all over the floor. Iowa tried to get me to go out but that was not happening.

Sunday: I went back to my parents house to grill out again and I spent more money at target and walmart. I bought a new comforter and a new shower curtain. There are few things that go with a turquoise bathroom and yellow bedroom so i'm pretty much screwed. I think painting will be on my list come spring..

so that was pretty much my weekend. I did pay off my credit cards with the remainder or my tax refund. I really didn't want to... but I am on the edge of unemployment and it's responsible for me to have the least amount of bills possible if I live on unemployment.

oh good ol Ashford... Can't believe another Monday is rolling around :(

I need to start taking advantage of the weekends and drinking mass amounts. It'll be the only way I survive..

**after posting this I realized that I forgot to mention this kickass website www.tonethis.com (or at least i think that is the name of it) I can upload any song I want and make it into a ringtone! this made my whole weekend. Thanks Iowa!^^

3 days into the work week and i'm very frustrated with the way things are going. you would think after this long i would be used to being treated like shit for not enrolling students. i loooooove my job.

which is why i need another vacation
fact: silvia has lived in d.c. off and on for years and i have never visited
fact: the president lives in d.c.
fact: i have never been drunk on the east coast
fact: silv is the only mexican i know that will sing "redneck woman" whenever she karaokes

I feel these are all great reasons to go to d.c. i'm thinking a "mini spring break" some time at the end of feb or beginning of march. like a thurs-sun?

i'm thinking about it now since im getting my tax refund on friday. i love taxes! actually, i think i'd even consider it a holiday... it's the biggest gift of the year. better than birthday and christmas. oh tax season i love you. who dreads tax season? idiots. i hear i would also get more money back for giving birth. very tempting if i could find someone to take care of the child. i have max, he should be a dependent

very excited for Friday, im meeting up with Iowa and she is in the process of making me new cds. for those of you who don't know, i love finding new music to listen to. keeps my mind off of annoying things like work. blah. this better be the best music ever because she has been taunting me via text all night!

back to this president thing... i would love to meet obama and i am from IL oh and he did come speak at Ashford.. I would think I have something going for me. who wouldn't love to meet me? maybe he'll take notice of this blog and my sweet tagline (promoting education) and invite me to the white house... well, a girl can dream. luckily, silv is pretty good at stalking. i'm sure we'll get close.

it's never enough...

well first off i think i should mention that i've been at AU for 2 solid years now. even more impressive is the fact that i made it longer than mom. yes, for those of you looking for a weekly update, i am still employed.

i managed to enroll 5 students this week - which is about 4 more than usual. i'm pretty much a rockstar and deserve all recognition given to me.

even though i have passed my weekly goal and could literally just take the rest of the week off, the work is never done. there is always another student to enroll which means i never have free time. i've already put in my 40 hours for the week and im not allowed over time. shouldnt this mean that tomorrow is a vaca day? negative

i was even yelled at today for being on facebook. trust me, there are more important things to worry about then what i'm doing while dialing the phone. can't help it that in the last 2 years i've learned to multi-task.

ugh i hate my job, i think it would be easier to just get fired and start over

i couldn't find anyone to drink with tonight so instead i went to maurices and spent $150 that i don't have... where is my tax refund?!

what next?

Most of you know that my job has been a living hell for the last 4 months or so. I think it's a comination of the horrible weather and suck ass economy. I can't enroll a student to save my life / job... so as I'm working hard I'm also planning for the future.

I know sister is also planning for me, but she hasn't come up with much either... for some reason she believes a job at maurices would pay my bills. which in reality she wants discounts on clothing and I would be oweing more money than what I would make...

1. I am enrolling in classes again - I took a few months off because AU would not pay for them. I believe this is bull shit. I have worked for the place for 2 years and made them thousands. it's not costing them anything by letting me finish my degree... blah anyway I start class on the 28th. Back on track I should graduate by December.

2. I hate the snow and I am very tempted to move somewere warm. I've been thinking of Texas or Florida (Jess & Mer are there) No idea what I want to do job wise and I'm not even picky - where are the best places to find a rich husband? I will be relying on unemployment to support me but a rich husband would be nice. I hate budgeting.

3. bartending - this would normally be an option but if I'm unemployed I'm worried about my endless supply of alcohol. I will never be sober again. Not sure why an endless supply of alcohol is a bad thing. If I'm unemployed there's no reason to be sober..

I need so ideas and direction.. I'm lost.
